Professional Skills

LEADERSHIP:   Extensive experience in educational leadership roles, including proven ability in data driven decision-making, demonstrating vision, and understanding the dynamics of the change process. Knowledgeable of current school law and issues relevant to negotiation practices.  Served as an administrative representative on the Continuous Improvement Team, Strategic Planning Team, Negotiating Committee, Special Committee on Absenteeism, and North Central Ohio Regional Professional Development Center Board.

COMMUNICATION:  Effectively communicates the building and district philosophy, needs, mission, and accomplishments through a variety of modes including technology.  Uses effective strategies to deal with the political issues and forces that affect the school’s operation. Editor for the quarterly district newsletter and assisted in the development and redesign of the district website. Ongoing communication includes monthly newsletters, regular press releases, and special reports utilizing Power Point presentation skills.

CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION:  Explores, assesses, and implements educational concepts that enhance teaching and learning.  Strong background in designing instructional programs that result in improved student achievement.  Plans needs-driven, ongoing professional development opportunities for staff. Facilitated the achievement of an effective rating on the building report card for Renschville Elementary School. Served as the District Test Coordinator, member of the district Language Arts and Math Curriculum Committees, Professional Development Committee, and co-chaired the Math Curriculum Review and Textbook Adoption Committee.

ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT:  Utilizes the resources and skills of teachers, parents, community members and students to accomplish the mission of the school.  Willingly delegates duties and redirects resources to best utilize personnel. Creatively secures new resources to support school programs through grant funds, alternative scheduling, improved professional development strategies, and fundraising through the parent-teacher organization.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT:  Becomes immersed in the community by being a person of integrity and demonstrates a commitment to community service. Served on numerous levy campaigns for the school and community issues, member of the Community Center YMCA Board of Directors, served as a parent volunteer for numerous extracurricular events.
